The company does this by protecting and accelerating your websites, apps, and teams. We celebrate our global presence by creating City Clouds for each new office. This City Cloud was designed and illustrated by me for our Tokyo office opening. It was a fine dance in selecting what would be included, yet not be too cliched. This was all illustrated in Cloudflare’s style.

This was a fun project for many reasons. Probably the biggest reason was that I was a total fan of MTV back when they played music videos. It was nice to pay homage. Another reason is the entrepreneurial spirit in our company to launch a network (during a pandemic and race war no less) that had programming around the clock. Shows that spoke to our audience and sometimes included our audience.

Yet another reason this was fun was the concept I had for the music. We have weekly all hands meetings where we introduce the newcomers at all offices around the world. There is a slideshow with fun facts on our new team members. The tune that accompanies this is quite ingrained in all Cloudflare employees. I wanted to use this as a part of the musical theme, but with a call back to the OG MTV guitar lick. From our company music chat group, I found an in-company talent who executed beyond my imagination.
